Welcome to my portfolio. I invite you to explore my work to get a better understanding of my passions for all things design and typography. What you’ll find is a select few examples of my professional client work, as well as creative explorations of my “typographic landscapes.” Enjoy the views, and please get in touch with any questions.

I am a Professor of Graphic Design at Meredith College in Raleigh, NC. I received my BFA in Graphic Design from East Carolina University in Greenville, NC, and my MFA in Graphic Design from the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD). I have over 25 years of experience as a professional graphic designer and previous teaching positions include Assistant Professor of Graphic Design at Auburn University in Auburn, AL.

 

In addition to teaching full-time and directing the Graphic Design Program at Meredith, I serve as the Art Director for the North Carolina Literary Review (NCLR) and past Art Director/book designer for A Past Preserved (a personal historian). I also serve Meredith College as a Creative Director of the Circus Design Studio (an in-house design studio) and a Faculty Design Advisor for The Colton Review, a journal of art and literature. My design work has been recognized in several publications, such as Print Magazine’s Regional Design Annual, the Applied Arts Awards Annual, American Corporate Identity, and the Big Book of Logos 4, and my work has been published by ICOGRADA and Ramp Press. Additionally, I have exhibited my creative typographic landscapes and altered books in Louisiana, Virginia, Georgia, North Carolina, Chicago, New York, and New Zealand.

 

As a passionate and motivated designer, educator, and writer, I am constantly striving to improve my techniques, expand my skillset, and find new opportunities to grow.
